  This Church used to be a much smaller more inviting group and I had been a member of through most of teens into my early twenties. I always knew that if I ever came out as a gay man, I would be shunned. And when it did come out I was immediately fired from my position as a teachers aide. People whom I had known for years dismissed me. Not too long ago I had an online conversation with some members I knew from some twenty years or more ago. These were members that I had know and loved. In this discussion about my homosexuality and the fact that a person who was gay could not be accepted or loved by God. I argued that the God I knew did not make mistakes, loved unconditionally and had a plan for my life when He created me. One member took this conversation a step further ny saying that any person (this member specified those born with diminished mental capacity) born without the knowledge to understand and accept God as their personal Lord and Savior, would not be allowed into heaven.
  The conversation took place with three members of Crossroads including a senior pastor, now the pastor was part of the conversation and had plenty to say about my sin and the future direction of my life if I continued on this path and did not deny my sin. Oddly enough the pastor remained quiet neither denying nor supporting the members statements about those born with disabilities, his silence on the matter spoke more about his lack of character than anything he might of said to refute that argument. Needless to say I was very disappointed.
  If you are gay and at Crossroads afraid to come out, I have learned over the years that not all churches hate homosexuals. There are churches where we are loved and invited in, without the need to repent our homosexuality. A quick search online for inclusive churches will bring up lists of churches that love their parishioners without judgement. I hope that if you need a church like that, God will steer you to the one that is right for you.

  I have been going to this church on and off since 2007. I think this is an amazing church. The preaching the worship the overall being of the church is amazing. Pastor Chuck is amazing and so is the worship team. My only concern with this church is what i did not want to believe about big churches. Going to a big church is intimidating and trying to get involved is almost impossible. Especially trying to reach out on their website or APP. I have tried several times to get into a life group, I have sent prayer requests, I have tried to get involved in the many ministries that they offer, I have even tried to share my story on their website and the link doesn't work. The few times I have gotten a response its very vague."oh thanks check our email that we sent you." never got any email, or any actual follow up calls or anything. Its actually quite disappointing that a church can be so awesome and yet have such poor follow up when people are trying to get involved. I think this area should be addressed as it seems to be quite a bit of a problem. I will continue to attend this church for services but have started to look and pray for another church to attend where i can be involved in other areas. God Bless
